Description: Deputy Sheriff Knapp was shot while attempting to arrest a gang of bank robbers. Deputy Knapp was in pursuit of the robbers as they fled the scene. As Deputy Knapp approached on his motorcycle alongside the vehicle, the robbers shot Deputy Knapp in the chest. Deputy Knapp was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Three suspects were arrested.
