Description: Officer Kirk was on his customary night beat making his rounds when he failed to make two call-ins to the station. Police found an open door at a hardware store that led directly to an elevator shaft. Officer Kirk's body lay at the bottom of the shaft face down, after he had apparently fallen ten feet to an instantaneous death.
