Description: Patrolman Knaff and his partner were injured in an automobile crash when their cruiser was struck at an intersection by an impaired driver. The officers were responding to a man with a gun call. The officers were transported to the hospital where Patrolman Knaff was pronounced dead. The second officer survived. The driver pled guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, drunken driving and two traffic offenses and was sentenced to four to 10 years in prison.
