Description: Officer Kirby was on patrol when he encountered a group of intoxicated men. Officer Kirby ordered them to go home or else face arrest. The men refused to comply. One of the men grabbed Officer Kirby's billy club and beat him over the head repeatedly. Officer Kirby never regained consciousness and died later that evening. His assailant was found guilty of second degree murder and received a 10 year sentence.
