Description: Night Marshal Kipper and Chief Marshal Jesse Craig and were shot when they answered a domestic disturbance call. As they attempted to arrest the suspect, he wrenched free, gained control of Chief Craig's revolver and shot him in the chest. He then turned the revolver on Marshal Kipper and shot him in the head. Chief Craig died at the scene. Marshal Kipper died 13 days later. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to be executed.
