Description: Detective Kelly was shot as he attempted to apprehend a gang suspected of robbing two theater employees. Detective Kelly and fellow officers went to a hotel located in Oak Park, Illinois to arrest a gang of robbers wanted in Indiana. Detective Kelly was fatally shot and a second officer was wounded. The suspect was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
