Description: Officer Kelly was shot twice in the chest by a suspect who was stealing an automobile. The suspect was captured and found guilty of first degree murder. While incarcerated, he and another inmate, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of Sergeant Frank VonColln, attacked and stabbed to death Warden Patrick Curran and Deputy Warden Robert Fromhold.
