Description: Chief of Police King was shot when he arrived at a residence to arrest a suspect regarding a domestic disturbance. The wife of the man called on Chief King to arrest her impaired husband who had assaulted her. As Chief King opened the front door, the suspect shot through the door with a shotgun. Chief King sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and died at the scene. The suspect was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
