Description: Deputy Sheriff King was shot and killed as she and Deputy Sheriff Patrick Rohrer transported an inmate from a court hearing to the Wyandotte County Jail. The inmate was able to disarm Deputy Rohrer and shot both deputies with the service weapon. Deputy King was able to return fire wounding the inmate before she was shot. Both deputies were transported to the hospital where Deputy King succumbed to her gunshot wound the following day. Deputy Rohrer succumbed to his gunshot wound the day of the incident.
