Description: Lieutenant Klingenschmidt was injured in a motorcycle crash when he ran off the road and struck a wooden fence while leading a group of motorcycle riders from the Southern Pines community on a charitable ride for the Special Olympics. Lieutenant Klingenschmidt was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
