Description: On June 1, 1898, Police Officer Knecht collapsed after working to relieve the suffering of a motorman who had suffered a serious chest injury. Officer Knecht was overcome due to exertion and the heat. Officer Knecht was transported home and a physician was summoned. Officer Knecht did not return to work and died 19 days later on June 20th.
