Description: Deputy Sheriff Kemp succumbed to injuries stemming from exposure to chemicals during an investigation of an illegal drug lab. Deputy Kemp suffered from increased respiratory distress, with severe asthma attacks, after the initial incident in 1990. In November 1993, Deputy Kemp was rushed to the hospital in full respiratory arrest after teaching a K-9 class. On November 9, 1994, Deputy Kemp began to feel shortness of breath while attending a training class and was taken to the hospital in full respiratory distress. Deputy Kemp did not respond to intubation/mechanical ventilation and succumbed to the attack.
