Description: Sergeant Kimberling was shot and killed after stopping a man who failed to pay for gasoline. The suspect, who had stolen gas from a local gas station, assaulted Sergeant Kimberling as he attempted to place him under arrest. A struggle ensued and shots were fired. Sergeant Kimberling was shot in the face and the neck. He was able to hit the suspect once in the thigh before the suspect committed suicide. Sergeant Kimberling was pronounced dead at the scene.
