Description: Patrolman Kirk and several other officers responded to an automobile accident where a car had ruptured a large natural gas utility line. The officers immediately evacuated several surrounding buildings and residence in the area and assisted at the accident scene. Patrolman Kirk was transported to a local hospital after experiencing chest and back pains. Doctors checked his heart and lungs before releasing him. While leaving the hospital, Patrolman Kirk fell to his knees and died from a fatal heart attack.
