Description: Officer Knox was shot while investigating a scream for help. The woman had been kidnapped by a jealous estranged husband who was threatening to kill her. As Officer Knox walked towards the car where the woman was being held, he was shot three times. Officer Knox returned fire, striking his assailant five times. The suspect died at the scene. Officer Knox was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
