Description: Marshal Kersey went to a residence to conduct a search for illegal liquor. The occupant of the house refused to allow Marshal Kersey inside and shot him in the face at point-blank range. Marshal Kersey died at the scene. The suspect was found guilty in a court of law and hanged for his crime.
