Description: On July 17, 1885, Former Sheriff King was shot in retaliation by the brother of a man who was killed by Sheriff King's deputy. On March 13, 1884, Deputy Richardson shot and killed a man. Eight months later, after Sheriff King had retired, he was shot and killed by the brother of the man the Deputy Richardson had killed. The brother was upset that Sheriff King did not arrest Deputy Richardson.
