Description: While making his usual rounds in the downtown area, Marshal Kinard was asked to respond to a disturbance call at the local saloon. Marshal Kinard disarmed the suspect whom was also intoxicated and instructed him to go home. The suspect returned to the streets armed with a Winchester Rifle approximately one hour later. The suspect shot Marshal Kinard once in the side. Marshal Kinard was able to return fire and fatally wound the suspect. Local citizens took Marshal Kinard to the local drug store where the doctor's office was located, but he died en route to the drug store.
