Description: Patrolman Lehr and Robert Donnelly were on patrol in their police car with the windows up to protect against the chill. Patrolman Donnelly felt ill and went to a restroom. He returned minutes later to find Patrolman Lehr unconscious. All attempts to revive him failed. Patrolman Lehr died of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. It was later determined that there was a hole between the trunk and the backseat of the patrol car which allowed for a buildup of the deadly gas inside the car. Patrolman Donnelly was hospitalized but survived.
