Description: Police Officer Lopez was shot and killed after he stopped a vehicle wanted for leaving the scene of a hit-and-run crash. After a brief exchange with the suspect, the suspect opened fire and shot Officer Lopez. Officer Lopez died at a nearby hospital. The suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended by law enforcement officers after he shot and killed a civilian.
