Description: Correctional Officer LaRue was beaten by two inmates who then escaped. Officer LaRue took two inmates to an employee apartment located across the street from the Hunstville facility to repair a telephone. The inmates beat Officer LaRue unconscious, took his gun and fled. Officer LaRue never regained consciousness and died the next day. The inmates were captured.
