Description: Officer Lankford suffered a heart attack after a foot pursuit of a female prisoner whom he had arrested for public intoxication. Upon arrival at the jail, Officer Lankford opened the patrol car door and the suspected ran. Officer Lankford pursued the suspect approximately one block and brought her to the lock-up facility. After the pursuit Officer Lankford became ill and collapsed. He was transported to a local hospital where he later had a heart attack and died.
