Description: Detective Sergeant Lewis was shot after he and another officer responded to a robbery call at a local drugstore. As Detective Lewis questioned one of the suspects, another man opened fire with a revolver at point-blank range. Detective Lewis was shot in the chest and died of his injuries eight days later. Three suspects were arrested.
