Description: Warden Lincoln was stabbed and killed by an inmate at the Charlestown State Prison. Warden Lincoln was walking through the shoe department when an inmate approached him from behind and stabbed him in the neck, killing him. The inmate was acquitted of murder on the grounds of insanity and placed in an asylum. The inmate committed suicide 40 years later by jumping from a window of the asylum.
