Description: While on foot patrol, Officer Lane attempted to correct a street lighting problem. Patrolman Lane walked to a call box and notified the Desk Sergeant of the broken lamp. After two hours passed and the power company did not respond, Patrolman Lane climbed the lamppost and attempted to repair the light himself. The lamppost collapsed on him and he was electrocuted by a 2200-volt wire.
