Description: Corporal Lupton was struck by an impaired driver as he conducted a routine traffic stop. Corporal Lupton had stopped a vehicle for speeding when another car traveling at a high rate of speed sideswiped the patrol car and struck the officer. Corporal Lupton was transported to the hospital where he died several hours later. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with various offenses, but he committed suicide before the case went to trial.
