Description: Police Officer Lefler was shot when he and fellow officers answered a domestic disturbance call where a man was reportedly beating his wife. Officer Lefler took the suspect into custody. The man wrenched free, pulled a concealed handgun and shot Officer Lefler several times. Officers on the scene returned fire, striking the suspect, who managed to escape.
