Description: Police Officer Lowry was shot by a suspect whom he had arrested for vagrancy. As Officer Lowry escorted the suspect to jail, the suspect produced a revolver and shot Officer Lowry in the abdomen. Officer Lowry returned fire, shooting his assailant twice before dying at the scene. The suspect was arrested and charged with murder.
