Description: On October 2, 1972, Patrolman Lippert was directing traffic around a disabled car when he was struck by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Patrolman Lippert was transported to the hospital with severe head injuries and died three days later. The driver was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.
