Description: Police Officer Lanis responded to a local bar where a citizen was intoxicated and had a gun. When Officer Lanis arrived, he attempted to disarm the suspect and take him into custody. The suspect resisted arrest and while struggling with Officer Lanis, the suspect shot him in the stomach. Officer Lanis died a few hours after arriving at the local hospital.
