Description: During a mounted patrol training session, Officer Lindell was thrown from his horse. Officer Lindell struck his head on a blunt object causing severe head injuries. He remained in a coma for three weeks before being released to a rehabilitation center for continued recovery. Officer Lindell's health continued to deteriorate over the next three years. While under doctors care, Officer Lindell suffered from seizures and body convulsions. He succumbed to his injuries three years later in March of 2002.
