Description: Chief Deputy Leonard and Deputy Sheriff Ralph Hoy were killed in a single-vehicle car crash when their patrol car ran off the road and turned over. The deputies were transporting an intoxicated suspect back to the station when the suspect lunged for the wheel and caused the fatal crash. An eyewitness reported that the car made a sudden turn to the left, veered off of the road and flipped over. Deputies Leonard and Hoy both died at the scene of internal injures.
