Description: Investigating suspicious circumstances. Officer Long entered the Palace club after hearing gunshots. He discovered B.J. Smithson taking target practice at a silver dollar. They exchanged words and Smithson agreed to give up his gun. As Officer Long was walking away, Smithson grabbed a rifle from the bar and shot the officer in the chest.
