Description: On May 1, 1919, Captain Lee suffered a fatal heart attack hours after quelling a major riot with fellow officers. Captain Lee was transported to the hospital where he remained until his death two days later. Officer Arthur Shea was shot and Officer Samuel Hutchins was stabbed but both officers survived. Patrolman Adolph Butterman was also fatally wounded during the riot (13-E: 17).
