Description: Deputy Sheriff Lewis was electrocuted when he stepped into a puddle of water charged by a high-tension wire. Electrical wires that had fallen during the torrential storm had set fire to home of Deputy Lewis' brother. The brother called Deputy Lewis, who lived next door, to help put the fire out. Deputy Lewis was electrocuted as he crossed the yard when he stepped in a puddle charged by a downed wire. This incident occurred in the aftermath of a storm that had swept through Tennessee and Kentucky, which killed six people and caused millions in property damage.
