Description: Night Policeman Leonard and Sheriff Orville Litchfield were shot as they attempted to arrest a suspect who was threatening his wife with a gun. Sheriff Litchfield was shot in the chest and died at the scene. Officer Leonard was shot in the abdomen and was carried home by a deputy where he died. The suspect was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
