Description: Officer Lamm and other officers entered the residence of a subject who had threatened suicide. The suspect ambushed the officers as they entered the house. Officer Lamm was struck five times by gunfire. Officer Lamm had a chance to flee the residence but chose to defend another officer who had been shot in the head. Officer Soden was also shot but will recover. Suspect was reported to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol. At least one of the rounds penetrated Officer Lamm's vest causing fatal injuries.
