Description: Patrolman Laubenstein was attempting to place a mentally deranged man back into the patrol car when the man kicked him in the shins. Patrolman Laubenstein was treated but he was still in pain the next day. By February 7th, when the pain had not lessened, the doctor placed Patrolman Laubenstein into the hospital, his diagnosis was that blood poisoning had developed. A few days later, surgery was performed due to evidence of gangrene. Patrolman Laubenstein remained under continuous medical care and died on February 20, 1924.
