Description: Patrolman Lecak, while off-duty, died in an single-vehicle crash while responding to the scene of a massive gas line explosion in his neighborhood. The explosion, which covered a three block area, killed three people and injured 28. Patrolman Lecak was on his way to assist with the rescue efforts when his automobile swerved out of control and struck a building. Patrolman Lecak was transported to the hospital with a broken neck and was pronounced dead.
