Description: Night Watchman Lampkin was shot and killed while attempting to subdue a mentally deranged passenger at the train depot in La Junta, Colorado. The passenger thought a mob was chasing him and fled, threatening railroad employees with a revolver. As Watchman Lampkin searched for the suspect between the coal cars, the suspect fatally shot him. The suspect then committed suicide.
