Description: Staff Sergeant Lobraico was ambushed and shot in an exchange of gunfire during routine foot patrol in a village near the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. SSgt. Lobraico, of the 105th Base Defense Squadron, was posted on an overwatch position when the K9 dog alerted. SSgt. Lobraico notified his team and went to investigate and was met with gunfire. SSgt. Lobraico engaged in gun battle with the perpetrators and was killed. The actions of SSgt. Lobraico saved his team and he was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star with Valor.
