Description: Deputy Sheriff Lockard was shot as he and prohibition agents raided a moonshine still. Deputy Lockard was guarding a still when he was fatally shot from behind. Deputy Lockard returned fire and fatally wounded his assailant who died two days later. Deputy Lockard was the brother of Barbourville Police Chief Gertrude Lockard.
