Description: Constable Long was shot and killed in retaliation as he lay sleeping in his bed. Constable Long held warrants for several of the desperadoes who bludgeoned the door open and shot him and his wife, Susan, as they lay sleeping at home. Constable Long was shot multiple times and died at the scene. His wife was shot in the face but survived. The desperadoes were tracked and located two days later and arrested.
