Description: Sergeant Lopez suffered a heart attack after responding to assist in a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle. As Sergeant Lopez exited the parking lot, the pursuit was cancelled. Sergeant Lopez was stopped at a red light when his patrol vehicle slowly began moving forward through an intersection, rolled onto a curb and struck a fence. Sergeant Lopez was transported to the hospital in full cardiac arrest where he died.
