Description: Deputy Lambert was shot in the chest as he stood on the front porch of his home. Deputy Lambert was shot by a man he had arrested for desertion. The man was also angry regarding Deputy Lambert's involvement in an attempted arrest that resulted in the death of his brother-in-law by a third party. The suspect turned himself in and confessed to the crime.
