Description: Officer Lawless was killed in a single-car all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident while on patrol at the Holeyland/Rotenberger Wildlife Facility. While patrolling for poachers, Officer Lawless' department-issued ATV struck a metal gate and overturned, trapping her underneath. After Officer Lawless failed to respond to a routine radio check, fellow officers conducted a search and found her pinned beneath the vehicle. Officer Lawless was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
