Description: Detective Lorenzo was critically injured while traveling home in his unmarked cruiser. A vehicle turned left in front of his cruiser causing him to swerve and strike a palm tree. Detective Lorenzo's seat belt tore as a result of the collision and he crashed through the windshield. Detective Lorenzo was transported to a local hospital where he remained unconscious until his death one week later.
