Description: Patrolman Lamb and Captain John Day were killed in a shootout with a desperado. The suspect escaped only to be apprehended the following day by lawmen. Sergeant Gabriel Porteous, Corporal John Lally and Jailer Andrew Van Kuren also died while trying to arrest the suspect. The suspect wounded Officer August Morocca, Officer F. Evan & Officer J. Bofill before being killed.
