Description: Patrolman Latta was shot when he responded to a domestic disturbance call where a mentally deranged suspect was threatening to kill his wife. When Patrolman Latta arrived at the residence, he was shot in the chest by the suspect. Patrolman Latta was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was sentenced to a mental institution for the insane.
