Description: Marshal Little responded to a call where illegal whiskey was being sold. He recovered several gallons of illegal whiskey, and changed the location of the whiskey in case the owner returned. Marshal Little returned later that day and brought one of the town youths to assist him in loading the whiskey into the patrol car. An argument developed between Marshal Little and the youth, Homer Self, 23. It is believed that the illegal whiskey belonged to the youth or his family. Mr. Self fought with Marshal Little and gained control of his gun. Marshal Little died from a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. The suspect was charged and convicted of murder.
